YAWCA (Youth Aviation Week Central Africa)
Central Africa Youth Aviation Week is a crucial event aimed at promoting young people's interest in aviation and inspiring them to pursue careers in this rapidly growing field. The event will connect talented young people with aviation professionals, familiarize them with the various facets of the aeronautical industry, and foster the emergence of a new generation of African aviators.
YAWCA Vsion
……….
The vision of Central Africa Youth Aviation Week (SAJAC) is to foster a new generation of African leaders in the aviation sector by bridging the gap between young people and a sector that is strategic for the continent's development. We aspire to see young people in Central Africa not only drawn to aviation but also able to thrive within it as key players, contributing to the region's economic, social, and technological growth. SAJAC aims to become a driving force for innovation, inspiration, and collaboration in a rapidly expanding sector, and above all, to open up career paths that were previously inaccessible to the vast majority of young people.
YAWCA Objectives
……….
Promoting aviation among young people in Central Africa
One of SAJAC's main objectives is to demystify aviation and make it accessible to all young people, particularly in Central Africa. We aim to spark genuine interest in aviation careers, often perceived as reserved for an elite, by highlighting the diversity of jobs and opportunities this sector offers. Through conferences, practical workshops, and discussions, the event demonstrated to young people that aviation is an innovative, promising, and accessible field.
To inspire and guide towards careers in aeronautics
The aerospace industry faces an urgent need for skilled labor, and this challenge is all the more crucial in Africa, where the sector is experiencing rapid growth. SAJAC aims to guide young people towards promising careers by equipping them with practical knowledge and
Theoretical information on career opportunities in the field was provided. Thanks to testimonials from industry professionals, young people were able to envision concrete and achievable career paths. The objective is clear: to inspire and train a new generation of talent capable of meeting the challenges of the aeronautics industry in the coming decades.
Connecting young talent with industry professionals
SAJAC also aims to create lasting partnerships between young people and key industry players by facilitating direct meetings and exchanges. By bringing together students, professionals, and companies, the event helped create a strong network where young people could not only ask questions but also identify concrete opportunities for mentorship, internships, and employment. This objective aims to strengthen the links between academic training and the real needs of the labor market, and to ensure successful professional integration for young talent in a dynamic and demanding sector.
Practical immersion and discovery of core professions
One of SAJAC's fundamental pillars is to offer young people a direct link between theory and real-world experience. Through a program of immersive visits to strategic sites—international airports, military air bases, and airline operations centers—we transform young people's curiosity into a concrete understanding of the aeronautical ecosystem.
A springboard for African youth.
In addition to providing young participants with an opportunity to discover aviation, SAJAC also serves as a talent incubator for the young professionals involved in its organization. There, they develop skills in project management, communication, leadership, and collaboration, all while contributing to a cause that directly impacts their generation. The energy and commitment of these young people have demonstrated one essential truth: the future of African aviation rests in the hands of this bold and innovative new generation. SAJAC, through YAAPA, embodies this vision of a sector by young people and for young people, where everyone has a role to play in building a dynamic and inclusive aeronautical ecosystem in Africa.
