SAJAC 2026 in Cameroon: Thanks to the Yaapa Career Tour 2026, the youth of Buea now dream of aviation

The Molyko Buea Bilingual High School, in the Southwest region, vibrated on Tuesday, February 3rd to the rhythm of Yaapa Career Tour 2026. In a packed gymnasium, our team deployed its arsenal of awareness-raising activities for civil aviation professions.

The need for information about careers in air transport and the space industry became acutely apparent. The result is flourishing at the Yaapa Career Tour 2026 stop at the Molyko Buea Bilingual High School. Newly appointed ambassadors, a Charter signed by all students present, and eyes shining with renewed enthusiasm.

Unexpected horizons for high school students thirsting for guidance.

The students' ignorance was glaring. They couldn't even name three airlines before our team's intervention. "Many students are poorly informed about careers in civil aviation. This conference is perfectly timed to raise their awareness of these sectors," acknowledges Sylverin Elepi Odoua, the school's senior career advisor. He makes no secret of his satisfaction with the enthusiasm shown by the young people, evident in their questions and engagement. "They are already enlightened about certain professions they were previously unaware of," he adds, emphasizing the importance of identifying all possible career paths to enable students to make informed choices.

When aviation meets urban history

Fidel Bolongi Njanjobea, a student in Upper Sixth Science, perfectly embodies this generation searching for meaning. His story resonates like a declaration of love for aviation. “My first dream in life was to become a pilot. Ever since I was little, I’ve loved flying,” he confides with disarming candor. But the young man doesn’t confine himself to a narrow vision of his future. He has managed to adjust his aspirations without abandoning his passion: becoming a mechanical engineer while remaining rooted in the world of aeronautics.

“Becoming a mechanical engineer and being part of the aviation industry gives me great pleasure,” he says, demonstrating his ability to reconcile pragmatism and dreams. This is precisely the approach we encourage through this tour, which is spreading hope in Cameroonian schools. On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, the focus shifted to Bafoussam in the West Region, where our caravan continues its mission as part of the Central African Youth Aviation Week.
